Manapouri River Taxi provides fast, reliable crossings of the Waiau River from Pearl Harbour, Manapouri. It is the only practical way to reach the Circle Track, Hope Arm, Back Valley, and Mt Titiroa walking tracks.

You can pre-book the Manapouri River Taxi online at adventuremanapouri.co.nz or call 0800 456 457. Pre-bookings are essential.

Your booking includes a scenic boat ride across the Waiau River from Pearl Harbour, Manapouri, with direct access to Fiordland’s walking tracks such as the Circle Track, Hope Arm, Back Valley, and Mt Titiroa.

The crossing takes around 5 minutes, depending on the destination wharf and river conditions.

Yes.

  • November 2025 – March 2026: Departures from 9.30am to 10.30am, with returns from 2pm to 3pm.
    On-demand crossings for groups are available by arrangement.

Yes, safety is our top priority. While we operate in most weather conditions, we may need to reschedule or cancel services in extreme weather for your safety.

 Cancellations made at least 24 hours before your scheduled departure are eligible for a full refund. For cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, refunds are at our discretion.

If you miss your scheduled departure, then you will need to contact us immediately. You may need to make a new booking.
